David Walters
Founder of Damer House
David has built a reputation for turning ambitious ideas into commercially successful initiatives and sustainable places.
At Grainger plc, he spent 15 years helping to transform the FTSE 250 company into a Build to Rent pioneer, shaping its development strategy and sitting on the Group Investment Committee. Later, as Managing Director of Osborne Developments, he established a development team, launched an institutional BTR platform and expanded the company’s PBSA activities, further cementing his track record for innovation.
Over the years, David has managed teams and delivered projects across the full development lifecycle, bringing together the perspectives of investor, developer, and contractor. He has led joint ventures and partnerships, managed multi-disciplinary teams and helped deliver a series of industry firsts - from achieving the UK’s first public/private partnership for Build to Rent, the first BTR-specific planning permission, the first PRS design award, and one of the UK’s earliest PBSA Town House projects.
Passionate about placemaking and new delivery models, David is valued for his strategic vision and strong relationships across both the public and private sectors. Through Damer House, he now applies this experience to help landowners, developers and investors unlock opportunities, structure successful platforms and projects to create lasting value for communities and stakeholders.
